How do I Check The Versions of Python Modules?

In this Tutorial, we will learn How to Check The Versions of Python Modules as there are around eight methods to check the version of a python module that can be used. Here we will discuss all of them one by one here.

Python Module version

There are different ways to check the versions of modules in python that we will discuss here one by one.

Pip show

It is a way to find the module version we can get directly. Before finding the version of the module we need to keep in mind that the version is the latest 1.3 as it was released in 2013.

 

pip show xyz

it will show which version of the module XYZ.

pip list

This is a way to find the list of all the modules used in the python program along with the version of that module.

pip list

Pip3 list | findstr

This is also a way to find the version of the module along with the specific module version. We provide the name of the module to get the version. To know follow the code given below.

pip3 list | findstr numpy

Library._version_ Attribute

It is also used for getting the version of the library for example following the code given below and executing them to get the version of the library.

print(numpy. __version__)

importlib.metadata.version

It is also a way to find the version of the library to do so following the code given below.

importlib .metadata .version ('xyz')

Conda List

As we work on anaconda we can also use conda for finding all the modules along with all the modules with the version.

Pip Freeze

Freeze is also used for getting the version. we can provide the name of the module or library for finding the version we can provide them the name for which we want to get the version. for example.

pip freeze
